The Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) instructor course is for those individuals who have already successfully completed an ASLS provider course. This course is designed to train instructor candidates to teach ASLS providers and update courses.

Instructor candidates must meet certain requirements before taking the instructor course.

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be licensed or certified in a healthcare occupation in which ASCLS skills are within their scope of practice
• Have a current American Heart Association ASLS provider card at the time of the class. 

The instructor course has 3 parts. The first is an online module, the second is the classroom portion, and the third is being monitored teaching an ASCLS course.
